It is now becoming a religious trend for Nigerian women in America to stand in front of a church and use God to disrespect their husbands publicly.  I do not know if it is the devilish influence of radical feminism that has ravaged Black American homes or the educational or financial successes of women in America that have relegated husbands as disposable tissue paper.  This is because many women are now making as much, if not more, as their husbands because the American employment system give more opportunities to women than Black men.  Women benefit more in Affirmative Action.

In too many occasions during baby dedication at church, Nigerian women will dance to the front of the church with their families, parents, siblings, in-laws, and friends.  When the dance, praise, and prayers are over, she is given the microphone to give thanks on behalf of the arrival of the baby.  She always first give God thanks, then the pastor and the pastor's wife for their prayers and visits, then thanks a church staff or two for their calls and prayers, thanks her sisters, in-laws, and her mother for all the support, and lastly thanks the entire church.  It is only when she is about to walk away and the church reacts with a groan, that she immediately remembers her husband and then say some nice things about him and all the support he gave her during the trying period.

The husbands usually take it with a forgiving smile, but this has become a huge shame to our culture and our family system.  It is now even a embarrassment for educated women in American to publicly say that they are a wife if they are married.  I have lived in America for about 20 years and I can confidently say that feminism and sexism has destroyed Black American families more than racism.  Black American women are known to celebrate publicly for being single mothers, their children making it without a father, and disregarding men at work or even social events.  Yet, statistics do not only show that Blacks score the lowest in everything that matters to life, but also, that over 70% of children that have issues with suicide, alcohol, drugs, teenage pregnancy, high-school dropout, violence, prison, and unemployment come from fatherless homes.

It is great to have women excel in school, career, and finance, but the greatest decision she will have to make to be successful all round is the choice of a husband and father for her children.  It is true that a mother is supreme, but it is the mother that has the intelligence and skill to keep husband and children together that is PRICELESS.
